The Marblehead Arts Association, located in historic downtown Marblehead, features six art galleries with programs and events hosted throughout the year. The 18th century King Hooper Mansion is available for rental and offers an elegant setting for weddings, private parties, and meetings.

Our Proud Accomplishments

  • Presented 24 artist exhibits in the MAA’s six galleries, and year-round exhibit at the Lynch/Van Otterloo YMCA.
  • Established a Youth Art Council promoting young artists.
  • Awarded three scholarships to outstanding art students.
  • Offered diverse programs, including Artist Talks, Studio Art Classes, Jazz Performances and Presentations.
  • Re-instated the annual Fund Raising Gala bringing the membership together post Covid.
  • Selected to receive several grants from the Mass Cultural Council/ MassDevelopment.
  • Welcomed “Paint the Town” Exhibit as part of the Marblehead Festival of Arts.
  • Showcased art from the New England Sculptor Association (NESA) offering Artist Talks from NESA members.

Our Future Plans for 2024

  • Increase membership and enlarge pool of energetic volunteers.
  • Expand our exhibits, programs, and community collaboration.
  • Mentor future artists providing a youth art gallery.
  • Promote King Hooper Mansion rentals, including our memorable King Hooper Tavern, ballroom and garden.
  • Preserve our greatest asset, the King Hooper Mansion, listed on the National Register of Historic Places and an Essex National Heritage Site.
  • Develop a strong network of supporters who are interested in deepening their connection to the arts.
  • Refocus our organization’s development strategy restoring donor specific events such as our popular exhibit preview.
  • Build an accessible first floor bathroom.
