Joshua DiPerri

Joshua DiPerri is a contemporary artist of the North Shore, outside of Boston MA. His range of work includes realism and abstract oil painting, encaustic painting, sculpture, photography and poetry. He was born and raised in Gloucester, MA where the smell of sea salt fills the air. Joshua’s creations are influenced by experiences gained while traveling to different parts of the world.

Joshua’s love of art is shared by his great uncle of Germany who is a visual artist and his aunt of Australia, who is an accomplished photographer. A chemist by trade, his father is skilled in the restoration of antique sculptures. Joshua is a self-taught artist who is versatile in multiple mediums.

Mr. DiPerri’s love of art originally began when he was in grammar school. As a young boy he would sketch animals, geometric patterns and anything that caught his fancy. He also became adept at woodcarving while in his middle school years. His interest in art truly began to blossom while in his early twenty’s.
During a trip to Australia he painted his first oil painting and authored a book of Poetry. Various works of his poetry have been published in Anthologies. Joshua began his experience with photography while quite young and specializes in black and white portrait photography.

Dauntless in his pursuit of creative works, he is constantly searching for new mediums to express his artistic endeavors. He has created various layered paper cut outs and has also branched out in his sculptures to include wood, copper, glass, mirrors, oil paint and encaustic materials.

He derives great satisfaction from seeing observers smile with appreciation at his work.
