Fletcher Boland

“In my work, places lightly touched by mankind are the predominant theme. I photograph moments of tranquility and amazement in natural subjects to communicate the richness of our world. The visual impression created evokes wonder even if the place is familiar. Boundless mystery can be found in nature, but it is not part of our everyday lives. As we embrace development and technology today, this separation increases. My images facilitate a connection to nature’s beauty and perfection for the viewer.”

Winner of national and local awards, Fletcher Boland is an accomplished visual artist based in Marblehead, Massachusetts. Boland’s work shows the mystery, beauty and perfection of the natural world without the encumbrances of our lives and everyday surroundings.

One of his earliest works, Untitled, 2001 won the Boston Globe’s Gold Key Award. Nationally, it won a Gold Award from the Alliance for Young Artists and was exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery in Washington D.C.

Recently, Boland has exhibited frequently as a solo artist and has been featured in a number of group shows. He has also sold his work through a juried auction at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
