Rev250Mhd: Marblehead Loyalists and Their Homes

Rev250Mhd: Marblehead Loyalists and Their Homes

Sunday, June 1st • 1:00pm - 2:00pm

An illustrated talk in the King Hooper Mansion ballroom by architectural and social historian Judy Anderson will showcase the homes of Marblehead’s Loyalists.

Some of them still stand, even if not in their original place. And those that do not have fascinating stories.

See where Marblehead’s most famous Tory, Robert “King” Hooper, sat out most of the 8-year war as he aged while having to watch the formerly prosperous town whose success he was so instrumental in building come crashing to the ground both economically and socially.

Another Loyalist’s home was an unusual one for Marblehead. Although it was sadly torn down a century later, it has a story as well.

Donations to benefit the Marblehead Arts Association.

No RSVP. For more information see page 1 & 3 at
