Elizabeth Lorayne
Jungian archetypes and the unconscious’ language of symbols are woven into her collagraph plates, linocuts, jewelry, and collages. Elizabeth creates her own personal myth through the symbols she carves from linoleum blocks or cuts from mat board. She evokes tone and mood through a combination of her innate knowledge and years of practice using various tools.
Nature, imagination, and dreamworlds were places of escape for Elizabeth as a child. Her art represents a careful reconsideration of how chaos can be transformed through creative agency. The layered details and symbolic meanings of Elizabeth’s completed works represent her ongoing journey.
Each fine art piece is created and printed with oil-based inks on her etching press at her home studio in Newburyport, MA.
