April 19 - June 14
Variations 2025 is the Marblehead Art Association’s annual national exhibit which features the artwork of artists from across the country.

Great Thinkers Around the World and Ages – Jonathan Sherman
Three life-size bronze portrait busts — of Leonardo da Vinci, Confucius, and Hypatia of Alexandria — are now on view in the garden of the King Hooper Mansion, home to the Marblehead Arts Association. Created by the artist to honor the human capacity for thought, the series invites reflection on our innate ability to reason, imagine, and shape the world — just as these great thinkers once did. Their lives exemplify the profound personal and collective transformations made possible through deep inquiry.
This exhibit has been generously supported by Landry & Arcari.

The series features still life imaginations of objects of curiosity and include symbols imbued with meaning. Still life paintings often include objects representing abundance, prosperity, fertility, transience, and mortality.
