Introducing Our New President … Amy Goldfarb
For those who I have not yet met, I’ve lived in Marblehead for 30 years and care deeply about the town and its art community. I’m an artist myself and feel well prepared for this leadership position, having completed two master’s degrees, enjoyed previous careers in healthcare and corporate finance, and owned two small art businesses.
In 2018, I participated in my first holiday market at the MAA and became a member of the Association. In the years that followed, I worked in the MAA Artisan Shop where I learned about the business side of the organization, assisting the Executive Director with ongoing projects pertaining to membership, programs, events and rentals. As Treasurer of the Board for the last three years, I’ve been evaluating the organization’s finances, eliminating redundancies and implementing a new point-of-sale system, which has vastly improved the experience of staff, artist vendors and customers.
I’m always inspired by the countless guests, customers, members, artists and patrons who define who we are at the MAA. As President, I plan to revitalize the Marblehead Arts Association by introducing new systems and innovative programs, continuing to focus on our mission of providing art to the community and preserving the historic King Hooper Mansion, and building on more than 100 years of success as an integral part of the Marblehead arts community. I’m committed to achieving greater operational efficiencies, enhancing the membership experience and ensuring ongoing financial stability. With a Board of competent, dependable professionals by my side, I look forward to an exciting year ahead at the MAA.
Throughout the year, I’ll be available at the MAA once a week for office hours. All members, friends of the arts, volunteers and innovators welcome!
