Youth Digital Art Exhibition Call
The Marblehead Arts Associations Youth Council is pleased to announce an open call for our upcoming digital art exhibition.
Exhibition dates are April 19 through June 14, 2025, with an opening reception on April 20th, from 2:00 – 5:00 PM.
There is a take in fee of $5 per piece.
This event invites young artists, aged 18 and under, to push the boundaries of art making into the digital world. We want to see your digital drawings, paintings, illustrations, videos, and sculpture. Whether created in Procreate, Blender, Photoshop, or any other software, the digital frontier is a chance for artists to explore new means of creation. We want to see you push the boundaries of art making and get creative!
A limited number of monitors will be available to display video/animation arts.
Computer-generated or AI subjects are not allowed.
*Artists aged 18 and under are encouraged to partake in the exhibition.
*The show is an open call. The MAA will attempt to find space for all submitted pieces. Artists will have at least one piece guaranteed to be shown, and they may submit up to three of their best works.
*The exhibit will be judged for ribbons and cash prizes. Decisions regarding the awards will be made by a team of MAA members.
The Marblehead Arts Association is located at 8 Hooper Street, Marblehead, MA 01945.
To apply, students can fill out the attached JotForm with a picture of their work along with its size, title, and price if it is for sale. Multiple artists working on a single piece is permitted.
All accepted 2-D work must be framed and wired for hanging. We will not accept 2-D work in table top frames or with saw-tooth hanging attachments. Any work deemed not suitable for hanging will be returned to the artist without a refund. The MAA uses the Walker hanging system exclusively which utilizes rods hanging from a special crown molding. This hanging system requires sturdy, museum-quality wiring. Unusual installation requests must be made in advance and approved by the Marblehead Arts Association.
We welcome submissions in all digital mediums. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Procreate
- Blender
- Adobe (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premier Pro, Animate)
- Video (Animation, Film)
