Rooted in Vermont – Mark Katz
March 2 – April 14
Dining Room Gallery
An exploration of Vermont’s vast countryside. Within that framework, special attention is given to the most basic elements of human influence; those that have an innate connection to their location. Photos are meant to highlight our more simplistic ways of living, creating visuals that not only draw upon our 5 senses, but force us to slow down and indulge in the spirit of our more ancestral ways. Images are heavily influenced by seasonality, as well as unpredictable weather, both pillars of Vermont life, creating a more immersive viewing experience. Compositional aesthetics are also incorporated into each photo, including attention to leading lines, color accents and contrasting light.
