2025 Digital Art and Animation Exhibit

As the Marblehead Arts Association expands into our new Digital Arts & Animation (DA&A) category, we welcome submissions that explore creativity through digital mediums. This category includes both 2-dimensional digital artwork and video/animated works.

We are excited to support innovation and storytelling in this growing field. Let your digital vision shine!

The deadline for online submission is Monday, September 22nd, 11:00 PM.

To ensure clarity and consistency, please review the following guidelines before submitting:

Eligibility: This category is open to artists working in digital illustration, photo manipulation, digital painting, 2D animation, motion graphics, short-form video, and similar formats. Traditional artwork photographed digitally does not qualify.

Format & File Requirements:

  • 2D Digital Work: Submit as high-resolution JPEG or PNG files (minimum 300 DPI).
  • Animation/Video: Submit as MP4 (1080p recommended). Maximum runtime: 5 minutes.
  • Include a brief artist statement (150–250 words) describing your work, process, and tools used.

Presentation: Selected works may be displayed on screens or projected. If physical presentation is preferred (e.g., framed prints of digital works), artists must provide ready-to-hang pieces.

Originality: All work must be original and created by the submitting artist. AI-generated artwork will not be accepted unless used as a tool within a clearly described creative process.

Review Panel: Submissions will be reviewed by artists and curators with experience in digital media and animation to ensure thoughtful and informed selection.
