Saturday, May 17th, 2pm

Olga Gernovski, 'Three Dancers'

Music being her muse, Olga Gernovski’s energy and rhythm emerges on the canvas in seemingly magical ways. It is as though her hands, armed with brushes or pallet knife, are dancing on top of the canvas as the painting appears. Gernovski will demonstrate her unique style she calls “Color Dance” on Saturday, May 17th starting at 2pm at the Marblehead Arts Association (MAA). Reservations can be made by calling the MAA, 781-631-2608, $10 for members, $12 for non/members.

Biography:
Gernovski is a member of the MAA and the Rockport Arts Association and her work has been shown internationally including the United States, Switzerland, Holland, Russia and her native Ukraine.

In the Ukraine, Gernovski earned a B.S. in Architectural Design and worked as an architect and set designer with master theatrical designers. After emigrating to the U.S. twelve years ago, she began to study at the Art Institute of Boston. In a recent exhibit at MAA, Gernovski set a challenging goal; to create a series of paintings that unify a dynamic feeling of music and dance through unique color interpretation. To achieve this technique, Gernovski consulted with a classical dancer. The series “Color Dance” has been reviewed as a “Master of creation…in brilliant and mysterious textures.” Her exhibits have been well received in Marblehead, Newton and Boston and she has won “Best of Show” Awards in several festivals.
